As one guest put it, “This Navy Strength is strong but smooth.” But it was William — affectionately known as The Taste Master — who captured it best: “Like Arnold Swedsnizer after exfoliating.” A bold and muscle-bound spirit, polished and refined. It’s the kind of metaphor that sticks with you — and fittingly so. Sidecar is all about contrast: powerful yet elegant, intense yet effortlessly drinkable.
The secret lies in our unique approach to the base spirit. Unlike most commercial gins, Sidecar is crafted using a triple pot distillation method. Between each distillation, the spirit is rested for 30 days — a time-intensive practice that allows volatile compounds to settle and harmonise, creating a rounder, cleaner base. This resting period is vital for the final mouthfeel and lends the gin its unexpectedly silky finish.
Our botanical extraction process is equally refined. Rather than rushing the steeping, we allow the botanicals — including juniper, citrus peel, and warming spices — to infuse gently over 14 days. This extended steeping takes place in a lower-alcohol base spirit, which coaxes out delicate oils and nuanced flavours without overpowering or over-extracting them. The result is a spirit where every note has space to shine.
